Methods

I make these rings by hand from 14K gold and sterling wire. I cut the wire to the proper length with saws or snips. The length determines the final size of the ring. After cutting, the ends are hard-soldered together into a circle with an acetylene torch. All my rings are cold-forged or tapped to size on a ring mandrel which tempers the metal so the ring will keep it's shape. I texture the surfaces with files, hammers, chisels, punches or hand made specialty tools. Finally, the ring is polished using centrifugal disk, vibratory, and rotary tumblers. My methods all test the integrity of the solder joint so I am confident the ring will last your lifetime.

I will replace any ring that breaks.

I will not solder these rings into a solid band, nor do I recommend anyone else doing so. All my rings have a solder joint which should not be reheated. The heat required for a good weld will also diminish the work-hardened temper. Not all my rings have flat sides which makes a good side-to-side join difficult. Finally, the advantages I list elsewhere would all be lost...obviously I think this whole topic is a bad idea.
